The Day Before The Big Day We Gather

The Day Before The Big Day We Gather

Today is the day before the big day. Tomorrow, Sunday September 17, people for all over metro Nashville will come together in the ballroom of the Maxwell House Hotel to worship God. I have no clue as to how many people will show up for the 2 services at the Maxwell House Hotel, but what is really amazing to me is that in hotels, schools, warehouses, storefronts, and church buildings constructed from such materials as metal to marble, all over the world, all kinds of people, in all kinds of places, using all kinds of styles, will gather to worship God.

Try as we might to hide it in our post postmodern world, we are deep down in our souls worshippers. God made us with longing to worship something or someone greater than ourselves. And if we can’t find the real deal, we’ll end up worshipping sports, leisure, power, work or any other thing that promises temporary relief and transcendence.

You and I possess a gathering gene deep within our soul. Our hearts long to chase away the lonely with other sinners in the presence of God. We long for hope and a place where you can always begin again with God and each other! It is never too late with God!!

So tomorrow we will gather. We will worship God. We will seek His face and in the process discover that it is God who has been seeking us all the time. And maybe we will make the greatest discovery of all time; God’s love for us, not as we ought to be, but as we are!

So since tomorrow is the BIG day, I challenge you to get up and go a gathering with other worshipping notorious sinners to discover the freedom and joy of being love unconditionally, without regret, reserve, boundary, or breaking point!

If you’re looking for a group to gather with and you’re in driving distance of Nashville come join us at The Gathering.
